Guided Nature Tour at Farm i Sweden
Our farm - short in English
Guided nature tour at our farm near Stockholm
We and our farm
We are a small ecological farm with Gotland sheep; we have around 24 ewes in breeding and 20 hectares at the farm. We also own 50 hectares of forest around 20 km from the farm. Our history at Vreta Gård started 2003 when we changed our life, left the suburb to Stockholm to start a new life. The history of the place is however long, even in the Bronze Age, since around 4000 years people have been living here, which means historical remaining’s as stone carvings.
Our two sons has been brought up here but are now young grownups and live their own life. Anders has another job outside the farm and Annette do the daily work with the animals, garden, household and give courses and runs the small-scale nature tourism.
We also have a few hens and three cats.

Nature guidning & Small shop
What we offer - our farm
We have 24 ewes of the race Gotlands sheep in breeding, we breed seriously and are ranked among the 10 th best of the race according to the quality of the skins (grey exclusive skins with curls).
Products that the sheep give is meat, the beautiful grey curly skins and wool that can be used for handicraft. We sell some yarn as well. We have a small shop at the farm, it´s open when we are at home (no fix times). Please, call us or send an email to book a time, or see if you can come.
Working with the nature, with the sheep is one of the most fun things if you ask us. But meeting other people and teach others about small scale farming or the nature is also meaningful, and we “build” and give different courses. Courses are for example sheep and hen courses, nature courses and courses about self- sustaining and outdoor life and crisis preparedness and courses for people that dream about a small farm our developing their small farm.
For you - an exclusive guidning - just for you

The guidning
We explore the nature at our farm. A short guiding at the farm and the garden can be a part of the guiding before we start our short walk up to the forest and the pastures. In the forest we have a shelter and an outdoor toilet. We eat a fika in the forest if it´s suitable for the guiding. Visiting the sheep is not part of the guiding, but maybe we will see them. If we the weather allows and we have the time, we could make a fire (not when it´s a risk of forest fire).

Annette Westerberg
Annette is an educated nature guide, Anders use to lead a group in the Swedish mountains every year. We also use to have a volunteer (wwoof) staying with us now and then, so we are use to talking other languages than Swedish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we meet the sheep?
Every meeting with humans is a risk of spreading diseases, to our sheep (but also to you). Since the risk gets higher with foreign visitors at our farm, to introduce new diseases to our sheep and to Sweden we choose to be restrictive with Swedish visitors, but even more restrictive with visitors from other countries. We want to show you the magnificent nature, that is the most important for us.
What languages do you speak?
Our mother language is Swedish, but both Annette and Anders speak English (“normal” level for a Swede). Annette also speak some French. We both understand a little bit of German.
A Swedish fika - is it included?
A Swedish fika in the forest is kind of obligatory. But... we don´t have permission to offer that, more than a few times a year. We talk about it. Maybe you have the possibility to bring your own? We really would like to offer you a special dining experience, but we can´t do that since we are not registered for serving food. Our business is too small; it would cost too much and then a much higher price you. We start our expanding with small scale tourism in 2026 and will see for the future.
What is a Swedish fika?
Fika = coffee/te/limonade with buns, cookies or sponge cake. It can be more, like a cake with cream, but not in the forest.
Accomodation?
We don´t have any accommodation but we are part of an association called Fjärdhundraland and among our collegues you find places to stay on the countryside of Enköping and also even more farm shops and things to do. https://www.fjardhundraland.se/en/
Toilet?
We have an outdoor toilet in the forest. It´s possible to visit a toilet in our house before going up to the forest.
Clean shoes - not spread diseases to our sheep
Even if we don´t meet the sheep we will pass a pasture and it´s important that the shoes are clean from poop from sheep, goat, cows.
